Question: Will the home create traffic congestion?
Answer: A traffic study is currently underway, but from previous experience we would not anticipate any increase in the peak period traffic.  A care home generates very limited traffic with insignificant peaks that would not coincide with the schools busy periods. A transport plan will be created and instigated in an attempt to limit the car traffic generated by the intended use.
Question: Will the construction cause traffic congestion?
Answer: There will be some disturbance from the building works but a key requirement for the contractor appointed will be to manage site traffic in order to mitigate their impact and avoid the school and summer peaks.
Question: Could the development of these fields damage the Steeple Nature Reserve?
Answer: An Ecology Survey is currently being undertaken and which will inform the design and use of facilities.  The intention will be to increase the site's biodiversity with good quality sympathetic landscaping, which would hopefully have a positive impact on the Reserve.
Question: Why develop on Higher Tregenna Lane?
Answer: The care facility needs to serve the greater St Ives and Carbis Bay communities and the site facility is ideal in this context.  We have considered other sites but this is thought to be the most advantageous for the services to be provided.
Question: What is the likely environmental impact of your intentions?
Answer: We hope to include the latest technology both within the construction and use of the care facility in order to limit the impact we will have on the environment.
Question: How will it benefit the community?
Answer: Cornwall Care is a charity dedicated to caring for people in Cornwall.  The intention is to significantly improve the level of service we are currently able to offer from our existing homes, Headland House and Trewartha House.
Question: How can we influence the proposals?
Answer: Cornwall Care is open to suggestions from the public on what facilities are provided within the scheme. Feedback is available through the website www.cornwallcare.co.uk or you can write to, Cornwall Care (St Ives) Limited, Cornwall Care House, Threemilestone Business Park, Truro TR4 9LD.
Question: What are the likely timings?
Answer: Public engagement will continue through to the middle of February 2010. We aim to submit a planning application by the middle of March.  If approved we would hope to start the construction work during Summer/Autumn 2010.
